Back Again

Been really busy again.

Who couldn't love a face like this. It's my old friend from the ranch. He still takes me to the hills every day and never complains. I wish I had his stamina. Do you think he cares that Obama is in the Middle East, or who McCain picks for a running partner? I know he isn't concerned with the price of gas either. Wouldn't it be great if our life was simpler too.

More trivia today.

*Horses cannot breathe through their mouths.

*Horses have a prehensile upper lip. Prehensile means "adapted for seizing, grasping, or taking hold of something." Their upper lips are very sensitive and capable of feeling the smallest of differences in objects.

Guilty.

I've been really delinquent with my writing. When I come home I'm exhausted. It's worth it though. I love the place, and you will too. Visit http://www.windwalker.org
We've had some amazing guests lately. I really enjoy meeting the people from all walks of life, and you should try to meet some of them in an atmosphere that will get you out of the crazy world we live in today.
I promise photos are coming soon.
Horse tip of the day. *A horse has a wide range of vision. A horse can see completely around its entire body except for small blind spots directly in front of its face, underneath its head, and directly behind itself. This is why it's very important not to walk up right behind a horse - you are in its blind spot and if you startle it you may get kicked.

Happy 4th!

I've been really busy lately on the farm, at the ranch, and best of all enjoying our beautiful mountains. It's the greatest feeling sharing the breathtaking views from the back of a trusted friend.
I'm going to share some new trivia I found.
*Horses don't have a gallbladder?
*The horse has the largest eyes of any land animal?
*Horses are not color-blind?
*Horses have memories that put elephants to shame?
*The oldest horse on record is Old Billy. Foaled in 1760, he died at age 62 in 1822. He was a draft cross bred in Woolston, Britain.
Don't forget to visit the ranch. Lately we've had guests from coast to coast, as well as from Europe. http://www.windwalker.org/
